*S*P*R*I*N*G* *2*0*1*9*

Something happens to me in the spring. I start looking up for the signs. I've been enjoying the traceries of trees all winter & I'm looking forward to the coming changes.

My hope is in the air & we've had some marvelous sunny days, some say an unusual amount of sunshine.
In the early mornings from my bed I could watch the sun filling False Creek & see the Pier 32 building change color. Total yumminess!!

Then there is my new avian friend.
At first s/he was coming to drink from a flowerpot saucer. Then I left food out & so my place is checked out daily by a member of that family. I believe there is an immature from 2018 & two parents.

On 15th avenue I had also fed crows. I don't know what took me so long. I quite enjoy the companionship. Then I realized I had to stop! The crows were making messes I didn't want to clean up.

The tulip trees are barely budding.

But the Armstrong Maples first put out tiny lollipops.

They get fatter... & redder...
Now red flowers are falling. Leafing out will be next.

In spring break I take Max & Reed out for their first juggling lesson. There's so much sunlight & high-rise reflections it's hard to know where to face so as not to be blinded by it all.

Our garden furniture is outside now & George & I have our first outside dinner. The wall mural from the corner of Pacific & Richards is now seen reflected in nearby high-rises. I like the reflections better than the splashy mural.
On our supper table ares gorgeous dried tulips.
At the Vancouver House construction site flowers show up also.

And near the Yaletown skytrain station this delightful installation!
I love the way the light changes everything. Even this looks wonderful to me.
And the vernal equinox moon to cheer the whole city up.
That's it for now.

  1. Daphne, you've certainly been busy with your eyes and camera . . . but so many great shots . . . what to do with them? I ENJOY seeing them, but it's not likely I'll be saving them . . . a FEW PRINTED ones would be kept, but electronic storage is beyond my capacity! Thanks for the eye treats and your take on the vancouver scene. Anna (I don't know about the address that appears in the comment box!
