The Becher Prairie

It was completely amazing to me that we were in sublimely beautiful country on our very first day of driving to Lillooet.

The next leg was to Riske Creek.
Give a long e to Riske, like with Daphne, acne, etc.....

More glorious country. Large expanses of open land and on this road from 100 km away were logging trucks. Lots of them. They were behind schedule because of a wet spring, and so they were rolling around the clock to make up for lost time. The wood is going to China.

These kettle lakes were a a delight.

We had a patch of rain.

Three eagles entertained us. This was a juvenile.

                                                 Single sprig sage plants.

Then we came to the Fraser River @ Farwel Canyon.

And hoodoos-- the amazing special rock formations happening with erosion.

The Fraser was smaller, but with mighty flow. I loved the "Asian-styled" water patterns.

This was a curiosity out on the prairie. At First I thought it might be a powwow gathering, but it was just an old-fashioned car dump!!

The big bend in the river.
We had great days out here. For me reminiscent of my times crossing the USA as a teenager.

                                                                That's it for now.
